Warley Woods Community Trust relies on grants and donations to continue its work.
Restoration
The Heritage Lottery Fund and Sandwell MBC have provided £1,000,000 to restore Warley Woods which was spent on fencing, pathways, benches, bins, tree works and new trees. It also paid for a community archaeological dig.
Big Lottery Fund
Has funded the creation of the new children’s play area, new sculptures and woodland walks.
Sandwell MBC
Gives the Trust core unrestricted funding which helps provide for salaries and some of the maintenance of the park. The Trust also applies for funding for projects and Sandwell MBC has supported the golf summer school, the fountain restoration and two projects through Smethwick Town Committee.
Forestry Commission
Gives the Trust a small grant for providing woodland for public use and also grants to help with tree works and for public access.
Charles Henry Foyle Trust
Gave the Trust a grant to refurbish parts of the Pavilion including installing a wheelchair accessible toilet, refurbishing the existing toilets, installing double glazing and replacement the boiler.
Fountain Restoration
We received grants from WREN and Cory Environmental Trust in Britain to restore the drinking fountain. Third party funding was given by Sandwell MBC
